Architectural Resource Consultants (ARC) was hired to provide HDS (High Definition Survey) 3D laser scanning services. The existing conditions data captured was used to determine gross building square footages for the six buildings that compose the Watergate Complex. All scanning of the facades took place at roof and grade levels. Balconies and balcony railings blocked some areas of the facade making data capture dependent on line of sight.

Survey control was established throughout the site by a licensed land surveying company in order for the deliverables to meet the specified LOA (Level of Accuracy) for the project. The purpose of the survey control was to properly control scan data.

The facility remained active while field work was taking place and ARC made every effort to not impact the occupants while the control and scanning were performed.
