In 2016, sunset + vine set out to remodel their location. The contemporary style building was built in 2004 and is a mixed use occupancy. It's 5 floors house about 309 units. The ground floor is occupied by retail tenants. There were no existing CAD files for the architectural designer to work from and they needed to acquire accurate as-builts. The architect was charged with updating and expanding the amenity areas.
Architectural Resource Consultants (ARC) was hired to provide building documentation services to document the existing conditions of several interior spaces on the first and second levels. ARC conducted a 3D survey and created a 3D model for the client.
ARC utilized HDS (High Definition Survey) 3D laser scanning as the method of documenting the areas of interest (AOI) identified. The first floor is about 3,800 s.f. while the second floor is about 6,000 s.f. The scanning of this area took about one day and the model was delivered within 3 days of completing the field work.
