Job Description

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of field-to-office workflows for reality capture.

We are seeking an intermediate level individual who is proficient in laser scanning, registration and setting survey control. The successful candidate will possess experience with Leica and FARO data acquisition workflows as well as being well versed in operating total stations. Time will be spent both in the field and the office capturing and processing data. A thorough understanding of architecture, engineering, and/or construction is required. Desired, but not required, is the ability to process data into deliverables using AutoCAD and/or Revit. We will consider training the right individual in our data processing workflows.

Building Documentation services nationally from the west coast to the east coast of the United States and beyond.

ARC has specialized in providing high-quality building documentation services since 1997. We believe that owners, designers and contractors do not need to be subjected to unforeseen existing conditions or the associated costs and time delays that often accompany them. During this time, ARC has focused on perfecting the means, methods, and best practices to provide extremely accurate as-built documentation using the latest in technologies such as HDS (High Definition Survey) 3D Laser Scanning and advanced photo imagery.

Our Mission is to assist those who recognize the complexities of existing conditions and wish to minimize their risks by proactively seeking to document such conditions in advance of them becoming an issue. By uncovering the unknown with regards to existing conditions, we save our clients both time and money while reducing their risk and liability.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will report to our Director of Operations and routinely interface with our Director of Reality Capture. This position will perform the following functions on a regular basis:

  • Field survey and documentation including both laser scanning and survey control

  • Photo documentation

  • Scan data analysis

  • Quality Assurance

  • Communicate with ARC’s internal team, Clients and Consultants

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced communication skills and English proficiency

  • 4+ year's experience laser scanning

  • 4+ years' experience in survey

  • 2 - 4 years’ experience working hands-on with AutoCAD required

  • 2+ years’ experience working hands-on with Revit preferred

  • Experience with the following programs: FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, and Recap Pro

  • Intermediate level of understanding of surveying, architecture, building construction and materials

  • Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field

  • Familiarity with operating DSLR and 360 cameras

  • Must be willing and able to travel

  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders to access rooftops.

  • Must have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle for field assignments

  • Must be able to obtain security clearance at governmental facilities
