BIM / VDC Reality Capture Technician
Architectural Resource Consultants (ARC)
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of field to office workflows for reality capture. We are seeking an intermediate level individual who is proficient in Revit modeling. The candidate will possess experience modeling existing conditions from record drawings, photo imagery, and point cloud data. In addition to modeling in the office, this position will require a willingness to perform field investigation and documentation of existing conditions. A thorough understanding of architecture, engineering, and/or construction is required.
In addition to experience in field to office workflows, the candidate will possess experience in incorporating laser scan and model data into AR & VR experiences for visualization and for ARC’s internal quality control. 80% of this position will be dedicated to reality capture production, while 20% will be dedicated to innovating new workflows through the use of next generation technologies.

ARC is a team of Licensed Architects and highly skilled technicians specializing in providing Professional Building Documentation services nationally from the west coast to the east coast of the United States and beyond.
ARC has specialized in providing high-quality building documentation services since 1997. We believe that owners, designers and contractors do not need to be subjected to unforeseen existing conditions or the associated costs and time delays that often accompany them. During this time, ARC has focused on perfecting the means, methods, and best practices to provide extremely accurate as-built documentation using the latest in technologies such as HDS (High Definition Survey) 3D Laser Scanning and advanced photo imagery.
Our Mission is to assist those who recognize the complexities of existing conditions and wish to minimize their risks by proactively seeking to document such conditions in advance of them becoming an issue. By uncovering the unknown with regards to existing conditions, we save our clients both time and money while reducing their risk and liability.
Responsibilities and Duties
You will report to our Director of Operations and routinely interface with our Director of Reality Capture. This position will perform the following functions on a regular basis:
Creation of Revit Models from point cloud data, photo imagery and record drawings
Field survey and documentation including assisting with laser scanning and photo imagery
Producing visualization through renderings, animations and AR/VR technologies
Assist in developing client facing web platform to access and view reality capture data
Communicate with ARC’s internal team, Clients and Consultants
Qualifications and Skills
Advanced communication skills and English proficiency
2 – 4 years’ experience working hands-on with Revit
2+ years’ experience working hands-on with AutoCAD
1+ years’ experience working hands-on with Twin Motion and/or Enscape
High proficiency and experience in Revit: content creation, modeling, and documentation
Point cloud modeling experience in Revit
Experience with the following programs is preferred:
FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, and Recap Pro
ARC GIS Pro
Intermediate level of understanding of architecture, building construction and materials
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field
Familiarity with the BOMA Method of Measure standard
Familiarity with operating DSLR and 360 cameras
Must be willing and able to travel
Must be willing and able to climb ladders to access rooftops.
Must have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle for field assignments
Must be able to obtain security clearance at governmental facilities
Other skills and qualifications that are considered a plus
Computer programming & experience with Unity
Experience in historic preservation projects
Space Accounting and area take-offs using the BOMA Method of Measure
Surveying and field layout
