Genaro Vargas serves Architectural Resource Consultants (ARC) as a Chief Scanning Surveyor with over 10 years of architectural experience. Mr. Vargas coordinates scanning staff on job sites and leads the scan data post-processing efforts in the office. Mr. Vargas is knowledgeable and experienced in CAD, surveying, modeling, construction, 3D modeling, and 3D visualization. He is highly skilled in using ARC’s Leica and Faro HDS 3D Laser Scanners and software packages such as Leica’s Cyclone and Cloudworx, Faro’s Scene, Technodigit’s 3D Reshaper, MicroStation, Rhino 3D, SketchUp, Navisworks, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Revit. He also does 2D surveying using Hand-held Distos and AutoCAD. Mr. Vargas received an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Drafting and Architectural CAD/CADD/BIM from Santa Ana College, Santa Ana, California. Prior to joining ARC, Mr. Vargas worked at 3 Day Blinds as a Customer Service Manager for special orders for 8 years. At this position, he was able to gain valuable communication skills that are shown though contacting clients in his role at ARC. Since joining ARC in 2008, Mr. Vargas has worked on numerous commercial projects including office buildings, health care, schools, entertainment, hotels, and hospitals. Within these projects, Mr. Vargas has been responsible for 3D laser scanning the sites to collect, process, and manage data that can be sent to clients. Mr. Vargas has also received a certificate from a 10-Hour Hazard Recognition Training with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). He is an integral part of ARC’s network of as-built surveyors and providing as-built services for projects in all regions of the country.
